It was another pole for Hamilton in Italy (The 3rd in a row – and his 5th in Monza, equaling Fangio and Senna).
Hamilton had a bad start (he dropped to 6th place), while Rosberg claimed position one. But a perfect pit strategy (only one stop) allowed Mercedes to get their 4th “one-two” of the current season.
Ferrari and Red Bull are fighting for second place in the Constructors championship and Ferrari was better in Italy. Vettel was 3th (his first podium since the European Grand Prix) and Räikkönen was 4th, while Ricciardo was 5th and Verstappen 7th (The Dutch was very “low profile” after having received several accidents from other drivers due to his very aggressive driving style during the Belgian GP).
Williams, in the fight for 4th place, overcame Force India. Bottas was 6th and Massa was 9th (the Brazilian driver announced his retirement from F1 at the end of this season), as Perez was 7th and Hülkenberg 10th.
Nasr and Palmer were involved in one accident and did not finish the race, as well as Wehrlein and Kvyat, due to mechanical problems.
Within two weeks, we will have the GP of Singapore – a night race.
