I know that football (or soccer) is not a “normal” subject around here, and I also know that in North America it isn´t sport nr 1 (as it is in Europe or South America), but the United States men´s national team did a nice job in Brasil (much better than my home country Portugal), and the “Girls” won twice the World Cup (1999 and 2003), and they have 4 Gold medals (1996, 2004, 2008 and 2012)  and one Silver medal (2000) at the Olympic´s tournament, but as someone who loves this sport I´ve decided to share my thoughts about it.

Next sunday´s game is “more than a game”…

“Hot blood” (Argentina) against “cold blood” (Germany)

South America against Europe

A poor country against a rich one

Two ladies: Cristina Kirchner (President of Argentina) against Angela Merkel (Chancellor of Germany)

Two Popes: Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI is German, and Pope Francis is from Argentina
Some say that Argentina has Messi, but Germany has a team…

Who´s going to win? That is the “million-dollar question”…
