Pole number 30 for Rosberg in Japan.
Hamilton showed some strange behaviour during Thursday’s and Saturday’s press conferences: On Thursday he spent his time taking pictures of himself and other drivers on snapchat, posting images of himself and Sainz with bunny faces… On Saturday he walked out of the press conference without answering a single question after accusing the media of being disrespectful.
As for the race: Rosberg gave nobody else a chance, winning for the 23rd time in his career (victory number 60 for Mercedes).
Hamilton had a disastrous race start, dropping from 2nd to 8th place, but after a remarkable recovery, he ended the race in 3rd position (his podium number 100), and very close to Verstappen.
Ferrari put Vettel in 4th and Räikkönen in 5th. Ricciardo was 6th, and the remaining points went to Force India (Pérez 7th and Hülkenberg 8th) and Williams (Massa was 9th and Bottas 10th).
For the 6th time in F1 history, all drivers finished the race (something that had already happened this season in China).
After this weekend’s results, Mercedes (with 4 races to go) has already secured the Championship constructors title (3 in a row)
Within two weeks we will have the US GP
