A review of the Canadian GP by Pedro Cunha

F1 2016 Canadian GP

Since 1961, Canada welcomes F1 and the circuit designed in the Notre-Dame Islands has hosted it since 1978. There is an agreement for it stay there at least until 2024.
In my opinion is one of the most beautiful circuits of the season.

Montreal F1 circuit

During qualifying, we had a few drops of rain, some accidents and Hamilton was once again the fastest driver on track.

Lewis Hamilton

At the start, Vettel with an excellent move claimed first place, as the 2 Mercedes were once again involved in an accident and Hamilton continued on track, Rosberg had to skitter on the grass. Back on track, he was only 10th, but it wasn’t all. On the last lap, while he was trying to overtake Verstappen, he spun. Anyway, the German managed to hold 5th place.

Rosberg crash

Hamilton won the race thanks to the strategy of his team. He made just one stop to change tires, while Vettel made two (Arrivabene recognized at the end of the race it was a mistake).

Bottas with a beautiful race was 3rd (the first podium of current season for Williams), while Massa was out of race – the first time this season due to engine overheating (Button and Palmer also had to quit with problems with their engines).

Verstappen was 4th, while Ricciardo was 7th, as Räikkönen had to settle for 6th position.

Force India drivers scored once again (Hülkenberg in 8th and Pérez in 10th) Sainz with a 9th place guaranteed 2 more points for Toro Rosso.
