Review of the Spanish GP by Pedro Cunha
Twenty cars on the track for the Spanish GP in Barcelona.
5th pole for Mercedes, 3rd “one and two” for the German team, but for the first time this year Rosberg has beaten Hamilton.
In a very tactical race Hamilton stopped three times (Rosberg twice), but at no time he gave us the idea that he would be able to win.
Vettel (who overtook Hamilton on lap1) completed the podium, while Räikkönen was 5th. Williams did ok, with Bottas in 4th and Massa in 6th. Red Bull has also put its two cars in the points with Ricciardo in 7th and Kvyat in 10th. Grosjean added 4 more points for Lotus and Sainz added 2 points for Toro Rosso after a beautiful fight with his colleague Verstappen.
“Scary” was the word used by McLaren’s men in terms of the cars’ behaviour (Alonso left after losing control of his brakes and nearly hit one of his crew on the pits, the miss being almost a miracle…) and Button had to settle for 16th place. The other driver out was Maldonado (for the 4th time in 5 races) after another incident (for some reason people call him “Crashnado”).
Force India (Pérez was 13th and Hülkenberg 15th) and Sauber (Nasr was 12th and Ericsson 14th) took their pilots to the end, but without being able to score, as well as the Manor team whose only quality seems to be the reliability, as they are terribly slow…
Within two weeks we`ll go to the most mythical of all F1 circuits: Monaco
