There was no one-two as well as no first place finish for Mercedes on the circuit which is based on the Notre Dame island. Was this just a bad day for them or are things starting to change? Let’s wait and see…

Ricciardo won for the first time in his career, in a race which began with the safety car after a collision between the two Marussia drivers (Chilton had gone through 25 successive race weekends without retiring) and also ended with the safety car after a very violent crash between Massa and Perez.

Rosberg had to settle for 2nd place (Not a bad result with all the problems he had – he has, in addition, increased his advantage over Hamilton to 22 points in the drivers’ championship) and Vettel completed the podium.
What happened to Hamilton though? He was one of 11 drivers who did not finish the race.
Many struggles between drivers, many mechanical problems and accidents, and once again Ferrari unable to do a decent job – Alonso finished 6th and Räikkönen finished 10th. The remaining points went to McLaren (Button 4th and Magnussen 9th), Force India (Hülkenberg 5th), Williams (Bottas 7th) and Toro Rosso (Vergne 8th).
If someone asks me to comment on the Canadian Grand Prix in one word, I would use the word “breathtaking”.
Within two weeks the “Circus” returns to Europe for the Grand Prix of Austria.
