Review of the Brazilian GP by Pedro Cunha
Last weekend The penultimate race of the current season 2015 was held in Brazil in São Paulo at the Interlagos circuit, which has been hosting the Brazilian GP since 1973 (except for the years 1978, 1981-1989 where the event took place in Rio de Janeiro at the Jacarepaguá Circuit).
The circuit is one of 3 (the others are Austin, Marina Bay and Abu Dhabi) within the F1 calendar to run in an anti-clockwise direction.
Early on we realised that the first five positions would go to Rosberg (after another Pole, and first driver to win twice in a row in Brazil since Juan Pablo Montoya in 2005), Hamilton (11th one in two for Mercedes this season), Vettel, Räikkönen and Bottas.
For the remaining places we saw several “fights” and overtakings, and Verstappen “made my day”.
Sainz was the only driver unable to see the checkered flag, as the remaining points went to Hülkenberg (6th), Kvyat (7th), Massa (8th), Grosjean (9th) and Verstappen (10th), with the Dutchman to score for the 6th consecutive race with his Toro Rosso.
Within two weeks the F1 will visit the Abu Dhabi for the final race of the present season, the only race that starts during the day and ends at night on a track (Yas Marina) built on an artificial island (Yas Island).
Standings:
Drivers: Hamilton (363), Rosberg (297), Vettel (266), Bottas (136) Räikkönen (135)
Teams: Mercedes (660), Ferrari (401), Williams (257), Red Bull (178), Force India (120)
