Review of The Abu Dhabi GP by Pedro Cunha

Rosberg vs Hamilton

Yas Island in Abu Dhabi hosted the final round of the 2015 F1 World Championship, a race that begins by daylight and ends at night.

Mercedes dominated from beginning to end with Rosberg (after his 6th pole in a row) achieving his 3rd victory in a row (and his victory No. 6 this season) followed by Hamilton in what was the 12th “one and two” for the German team in 2015.

Ferrari did well with Räikkönen in 3rd and Vettel in 4th (after starting the race in position 15).

Force India confirmed its outstanding championship with Pérez in 5th and Hülkenberg in 7th.

The Red Bull drivers also scored with Ricciardo in 6th and Kvyat in 10th.

The remaining points went to Williams ( Massa was 8th) and Lotus (Grosjean was 9th).

A very competitive race, with several fights and overtakings, where only Maldonado was not able to finish the race due to an accident on lap 1 with Alonso.

Verstappen was (again) involved in some of the best overtakings, but it was not a happy day for the Dutch: He received a 5 second penalty after leaving the track and gaining an advantage in overtaking Bottas, and another 20 second penalty for ignoring blue flags, thus ending up in 16th.

Williams driver Bottas was penalized with 5 seconds after one unsafe release causing an accident with Button, which damaged the nose of the Finnish car and ruined his race (Bottas finished 13th).
