Marcas Portuguesas - 5 - Gorreana

Falei na marca aqui pela primeira vez. Este chá é produzido desde 1883 na ilha de São Miguel. De acordo com o site da marca o chá terá sido introduzido nos Açores por volta de 1820 por Jacinto Leite (comandante da Guarda Real de João VI) a partir de sementes oriundas do Brasil. Actualmente a produção do produto ronda as 33 toneladas anuais, sendo a esmagadora maioria destinada à exportação.

Curiosamente o chá apenas foi introduzido na Europa no Século XVI embora a sua descoberta (China) alegadamente remonte ao ano de 2737 a.C. (ao que se sabe o Imperador Shennong tinha por hábito beber água fervida e um dia uma folha de chá caiu na água tornando a mesma muito mais saborosa)

Este post e este já tiveram algumas dezenas de visualizações, mais de 20 "likes" e 5 comentários e na verdade é serviço público internacional ao contrário do "folhetim CGD" que só nos prejudica a que acresce a má educação do BE (o qual recebeu pouco mais de 10% dos votos dos Portugueses nas últimas legislativas)  que não sabe receber visitas convidadas pelo PR eleito por mais de 50% dos eleitores Portugueses que foram às urnas, já para não falar nos elogios a Fidel Castro e nos "dótores" que nascem como cogumelos ...

What Do We Drink On Christmas Eve And On Christmas Day Here In Portugal

Last week I wrote about what we eat, today I will write about what we drink:

Usually we drink red wine and Portugal has excellent red wines – Barca Velha and Pêra-Manca are the most famous, but their high price does not make them accessible to the majority of us (a bottle can cost around 400 dollars ) But fortunately for less than 3 dollars you can already buy a good wine.

The desserts are accompanied by Oporto wine (prices can range from about 5 dollars to over 4 thousand …) or by Whiskey or even by Portuguese Brandy or Madeira Wine, with prices ranging from affordable to almost impossible ….

Of course we also drink water and tea (the most famous is produced on the island of São Miguel in Azores since 1883 with the brand Gorreana and its price exceeds 35 dollars per kilo).

No matter what we drink or  eat, Christmas is very special for almost all of us.

O Que É Que Os Portugueses Bebem Na Véspera De Natal E No Dia De Natal ?

Recentemente escrevi sobre os nossos hábitos alimentares hoje escrevo sobre bebidas. 

Vinho tinto é a bebida mais comum para acompanhar as refeições e Portugal produz excelentes vinhos - Barca Velha e Pêra-Manca são provavelmente as marcas mais famosas mas o seu elevado preço (uma garrafa pode custar 400 Dólares) não os tornam nada acessíveis à generalidade dos Portugueses, mas felizmente por menos de 3 Dólares é possível comprar um bom vinho.

Os doces são acompanhados ou por vinho do Porto (cujos preços podem ir de cerca de 5 Dólares a mais de 4 mil...) ou por Whisky, ou por Aguardentes os Vinho da Madeira, com preços desde o acessível até ao quase impensável...

Evidentemente que também bebemos água e chá, sendo o mais famoso produzido desde 1883 na Ilha de S. Miguel nos Açores debaixo da marca Gorreana cujo preço por quilo pode superar os 35 Dólares.

Independentemente do que comemos ou bebemos o que interessa é celebrar esta data tão importante para a maioria de nós.

What Do We Eat On Christmas Eve And On Christmas Day Here In Portugal

Traditionally, the Christmas Eve (known as “Consoada” a word that comes from the Latin word Consolare (“to comfort”) supper consists of abstaining from meat dishes.

Most of the families eat salted codfish with boiled potatoes and  vegetables, adding olive oil and vinegar or lemon juice, but in some parts of Portugal the tradition is to eat boiled octopus

.

On Christmas the tradition is nowadays to eat roasted turkey with French Fries and roasted chestnuts but in some regions people eat roasted lamb or goat.

Portugal has a huge tradition in pastries and desserts and  amongst many others you can eat:

Bolo Rei, made with flour, eggs, sugar, Oporto wine, candied and dried fruits, etc

Filhós (also known as Filhozes or Filhoses) – Depending on the region they may be thin or fluffy pieces of a fried dough made of eggs, honey, orange, lemon, flour, tea, sprinkled or not with icing sugar or cinnamon

Azevias – A fried thin dough filled with a sweet cream that can be or chickpea or sweet potato with sugar and cinnamon

Tronco de Natal – It resembles a tree´s trunk and it´s filled with chocolate

Sonhos – an orange flavoured fried yeast dough, powdered with icing sugar

Velhoses – Similar to sonhos but made with pumpkin

Broas – There are dozens of recipes but flour, sugar, honey, cinnamon, olive oil and almonds are the main ingredientes

Arroz Doce – made with rice, eggs, milk, sugar, butter, cinnamon

Aletria – Similar to Arroz Doce, but with vermicelli instead of rice.

O Que É Que Os Portugueses Comem Na Véspera De Natal E No Dia De Natal

Na véspera de Natal, a denominada Consoada (palavra que deriva do latim Consolare  cujo significado é "conforto") a carne está ausente sendo o bacalhau com batatas e vegetais o alimento mais comum no meu país, embora em certas zonas o bacalhau (regado com azeite e vinagre ou sumo de limão) seja substituído por polvo.

Hoje em dia o peru assado na companhia de batatas fritas e castanhas é a refeição principal do dia de Natal, embora em certas zonas se coma borrego ou cabrito igualmente assados.

Portugal é famoso pela sua pastelaria e doçaria e entre muitas outras delícias encontramos nesta época iguarias como:

A Blog As Future Memory ?

In a recent interview I had the privilege of having Fairen as my interviewer, and one of the questions was why I am a blogger. I said it was a way to share my thoughts, which is entirely true, but I´ve decided to “dive” more on the subject.

 

In my Portuguese blog I have published more than 14200 posts, and looking at them I notice that many are about politics, economy and sports  but the main issues are music, movies and book reviews: About 1100 records, over 4600 songs, more than 800 movies and more than 200 books reviewed, in addition to specific issues such as:

 

“Some Curiosities About The World of Music “: 83 posts (first post published on February 8, 2014)

 

“Stories of the Oscars”: 36 posts (first post published on March 12, 2010)

 

“Greatest Guitarists Ever”: 31  posts, (first post published on February 15, 2016)

 

“Greatest Drummers Ever” : 11 posts (first post published on June 21, 2016)

 

“On Saturday,” where I publish one iconic image and I explain its meaning and history (first post published on September 3, 2016)

 

 All for what ? Not only to share my thoughts, but also (and this might sound a bit arrogant) to left some kind of a “own DNA”.

 

I know that Portuguese is not accessible to everyone, but it’s my language. If I think posting in English some of these thoughts? It is not out of question, soon I will write about this subject on my blog The Other Soul, although the future belongs to God …

Isto tudo para quê? Não só para partilhar os meus pensamentos, mas também (por mais presunçoso que soe) para deixar uma espécie de "ADN" próprio.
 

Bem sei que o português não é acessível a todos, mas é a minha língua. Se penso publicar em inglês alguns destes pensamentos? Não está totalmente descartado, em breve abordarei o assunto no meu blog The Other Soul, embora o futuro pertença a Deus...

Evil Characters

As most of you know, I´m “crazy” about Cinema, and I watch as many movies as I can, in almost every kinds and languages.

 

Today I will write about “bad people” :)

 

Literature and cinema are filled with characters “very bad”, some come from “other worlds” (Alien, The Thing, Predator, e.g.), others belong to our world, but they are not human (Sharks, Dinosaurs), but others are (essentially) human, well I “leave” here 12 “human”, in alphabetical order – All these characters are terrifying and it would be presumptuous of me to think that either is more frightening – Of course, many ”bad characters” are´t here but this happens in every single list :)

 

Alex DeLarge

 

The character created by Anthony Burgess (1962) “acquired life” in a Clockwork Orange directed by Stanley Kubrik  (1971) and was personified by Malcolm McDowell – fond of Beethoven he leads a gang whose violence is unspeakable, but himself turns out to be a victim of its own methods…

 

Carrie White

 

Character created by Stephen King (1974) “become alive” in Brian de Palma’s Carrie (1976), with Sissy Spacek, being a sort of female version of Norman Bates – As a result of a deeply retrograde education, Carrie will develop a set of deeply destructive mental powers. John Kramer

 

He made his first appearance in Saw (2004) and was created by James Wan and Leigh Whanell – An engineer is the character played by Tobin Bell, a serial killer atypical – He doesn´t kill anyone, everyone can be save, but it implies that everyone follows all the rules defined in his macabre games, but as human nature is what it is …

 

Leatherface

 

Tobe Hooper was his father and made his debut in 1974 in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It is a character with many mental limitations, which reveal the worst of his personality: A heartless killer who uses a chainsaw and a mask made of human skin. Among his “achievements” we can find cannibalism … It was inspired by Ed Gain and many actors perfomed this role.

 

Michael Myers

 

Created by Debra Hill and John Carpenter made his presentation on Mr. Carpenter´s Halloween (1978). With only 6 years Michael kills his sister and after a hospitalization of 15 years he escapes returning to his homeland (Haddonfield) to continue to kill. It is a deeply sinister character, who never says anything and at any time explains whatever … Several actors have interpreted to date this role

 

Norman Bates

 

Character created by Robert Bloch (1959) came to life through the interpretation of Anthony Hopkins in Alfred Hitchcock´s Psycho (1960) – Bates manages a hotel, he is passionate about taxidermy, but a dysfunctional relationship with his mother will develop a twisted personality on young Bates, which led him to murder young women: If on one hand he loves them, on the other hand he hates them, as a result of his weird education.

Things (so help me God) I will never post about

 

Of course everyone can post about everything, but I´ve got my own limits.

 

Apart from explicit content (no mather its origin), it can be social, racial, religious or sexual violence, there are a few more subjects I avoid:

1. There are dozens of posts where parents claim that their kids are some kind of genius. Of course they aren´t, they just do what other kids do at same age…So I will never post an article named “my son/daughter started to talk/walk …”

 

2.  There are also dozens of posts where people say that their pets are able of fantastic things. Once more that isn´t true, their pets do all that other pets do…So I will never post an article named “my dog barks” or “my cat meows”…

 

3.  There are lots of posts fulfilled with what their authors consider to be “good advices”, but most of them consider us as “brainless”, so I will never post an article like this ” If you have two identical products at home, one valid until September the first, and other valid until October the first, you should first consume the one valid until September the first”, or, “please don´t wear warm clothes when its very hot outside”…

 

There are other subjects I dislike, but “wonder kids, pets and advices” are subjects I will never post about :)

Coisas sobre as quais (Deus me ajude) nunca postarei

 

Pode-se postar sobre qualquer assunto, mas eu tenho os meus limites.

   

Para além de conteúdos explícitos (seja qual for a sua origem), violência social, racial, religiosa ou sexual são alguns dos temas que evito, mas existem outros:

 

1. Existem inúmeros posts onde os papás apresentam os seus filhos como uma espécie de génios, quando na verdade não passam de miúdos iguais aos outros com a mesma idade...Nunca publicarei um post com o título "o meu filho começou a falar/andar"

 

2. Também encontramos inúmeros posts onde os donos de animais de estimação se gabam das proezas dos mesmos, quando na verdade os seus animais são iguaizinhos aos outros animais, logo nunca escreverei um post com o título "o meu cão ladra" ou "o meu gato mia" 

 

3. Outro tema sobre o qual nunca escreverei pode ser englobado na categoria "conselhos para atrasados mentais", ou seja coisas tipo: "se tiver um produto cuja data de validade acaba a 1 de Setembro e tiver um produto igual cuja data de validade acaba a 1 de Outubro, deve consumir primeiro o que acaba a 1 de Setembro", ou "se estiver um calor insuportável na rua não deve sair agasalhado"...

 

Existem outros temas que me desagradam mas "crianças e animais "maravilha" assim como conselhos estúpidos tiram-me do sério"...

 

E o leitor deste site, sobre que temas nunca postará ?

Simple Things (Almost) For Free

We (as human beings) are very complicated, but there are a lot of things that are (almost) for free, and we can enjoy them with no restrictions:

 

1. Feeling the wind on our face on a walk outside

 

2. Walking on an empty beach

 

3. Climbing the dunes at a beach

 

4. Reading a nice book

 

5. Watching a pleasant movie

 

6. Listen to some music

 

7. Writing whatever´s on our mind

 

And for sure a “million” other things – Please be free to share them with me :)

 

Life´s hard? For sure, but many times we turn it (with no reason and no gain) into one unbelievable mess :(

A vida é complicada? Sem dúvida, mas vezes demais complicamos (sem motivos e sem ganhos) a mesma :(

A outra "alma" completa hoje 1 ano de vida. Admito que não lhe tenho dedicado tempo suficiente, mas de forma alguma é um projecto fracassado. Os 65 posts publicados renderam 26 "likes" e 11 comentários, nas suas cerca de 700 visitas. Espero no próximo ano incrementar estes números, pois acredito que esta outra alma tem tudo para crescer. F1: The "Lost" Teams, Part 2

       

29 teams so far have won in F1, with 7 of them still active (Ferrari, Lotus, McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Williams). This post will examine the 13 winning teams (in alphabetic order) that no longer exist.

 

Alfa Romeo

 

If the world constructors championship had started earlier, the Italian team would have won it in 1950. As a team they lined up in 1950 and 1951 and later between 1979 and 1985, obtaining a total of 10 wins, 12 Poles and 2 drivers  titles (Guiseppe Farina in 1950 and Juan Manuel Fangio in 1951), and participated in 213 GPs. Between 1961 and 1979, they supplied engines to teams such as McLaren, Brabham and March.

 

Eagle

They participated in the F1 world championship between 1966 and 1969 in 26 races and never achieved any poles, but they got one victory (with Dan Gurney in 1967 in Belgium).

 

Hesketh

 

They participated in 70 races between 1974 and 1978 and although they had no poles, they won the French GP in 1975 with James Hunt. Almost 20 drivers (among them Alan Jones) drove for the team, who always aligned with Ford engines.

 

Honda

 

Best known as an engine supplier (and with huge success: four constructors’ titles with McLaren (1990 and 1991) and previously 2 more with Williams (1986 and 1987)), the Japanese team lined up in its own name in the championship between 1964 and 1968, and then between 2006 and 2008. They started more than 100 races, managed two pole positions and three victories. John Surtees, Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello were some of its drivers.

 

Jordan

 

They participated in the sport between 1991 and 2005, and had aligned in almost 500 races. 2 pole positions and 4 wins and among its drivers, we can find names such as Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Damon Hill, Ralf Schumacher and Jean Alesi. Ford, Yamaha, Peugeot, Honda, Ford and Toyota were some of the constructors that have provided engines to the team.

 

Ligier

They lined-up in the world championship between 1976 and 1996, they have participated in 322 races, and they achieved 9 pole positions and as many victories. Over time they received engines from suppliers such as Matra Ford, Lamborghini and Mugen-Honda. 27 drivers drove for the french team including names like Jacky Ickx, Jacques Laffite, Didier Pironi and Rene Arnoux.

 

March

They participated in the F1 world championship between 1970 and 1977, then between 1981 and 1982, and finally from 1987 to 1992 (from 1987 to 1991 with the name Leyton House). The team participated in more than 300 GPs, having managed four pole positions and three victories. Almost 30 drivers went through the team, which includes names such as Niki Lauda and Ronnie Peterson.
 

Maserati

 

Maserati lined-up on the grid between 1950 and 1957 (with the exception of 1951) and participated in more than 160 races, where they claimed 8 pole positions and 9 wins. Fangio won the title with them in 1954 and 1957.

 

Penske

The team lined-up on the grid between 1974 and 1976 and despite having participated in only 31 races, they scored a victory with John Watson in Austria 1976.

 

Porsche

 

The team participated in the championship between 1957 and 1962 (they later returned as an engine supplier) in just over 40 races. Dan Gurney in 1962 in the French GP, achieved the only victory of the team.

Shadow

 

From 1973 to 1980, they participated in over 200 races and had a total of 3 pole positions and one win (Alan Jones in Austria 1977). During its existence, they received engines from Ford and Matra. Besides Jones , drivers like Tom Pryce, Jean Pierre Jarier, Riccardo Patrese and Clay Regazzoni drove for them.

 

Stewart

Jackie Stewart’s team participated in the 1997, 1998 and 1999 world championship, always with Ford engines. In 78 races, they got one pole and one victory (Johnny Herbert in the Italian GP in 1999). In addition to Herbert, Barrichello, Jan Magnussen and Jos Verstappen drove for the team

 

Wolf

 

Between 1977 and 1979, they participated in about 50 races (always with Ford engines) and obtained one pole and three wins (all obtained by Jody Scheckter in 1977). Besides Scheckter, Bobby Rahal, James Hunt and Keke Rosberg drove for the English team.

Participou no mundial de F1 entre 1966 e 1969 tendo participado em 26 corridas, e se nunca conseguiu nenhuma pole, obteve 1 vitória (através de Dan Gurney em 1967 na Bélgica)

Hesketh

Participou em 70 corridas entre 1974 e 1978 e embora não tenha obtido nenhuma pole venceu o GP Francês em 1975 através de James Hunt. Quase 20 pilotos (entre os quais Alan Jones) passaram pela equipe a qual sempre alinhou com motores Ford  

Honda

Mais conhecida como fornecedora de motores (e com enorme sucesso: 4 títulos de construtores com a McLaren e e 2 com a Williams) a equipe nipónica alinhou em nome próprio nos mundiais entre 1964 e 1968 e depois entre 2006 e 2008. Alinharam em mais de 100 corridas, conseguiram 2 poles e 3 vitórias. John Surtees, Jenson Button e Rubens Barrichello foram alguns dos seus pilotos 

Jordan

Participou no "circo" entre 1991 e 2005 e alinhou em quase 500 corridas. Obteve 2 poles e 4 vitórias e entre os seus pilotos contou (entre outros) com nomes como Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Damon Hill, Ralph Scumacher, Jean Alesi. Ford, Yamaha, Peugeot, Honda, Ford e Toyota foram algumas das marcas que forneceram motores à equipe   

Ligier

 

Alinhou no mundial entre 1976 e 1996, tendo participado em 322 corridas, as quais renderam 9 poles e outras tantas vitórias. Ao longo do tempo recebeu motores de fábricas como (p.ex)  a Matra, a Ford, a Lamborghini e a Mugen-Honda. Dos 27 pilotos que passaram pela equipe encontramos nomes como Jacky Ickx, Jacques Laffite, Didier Pironi e René Arnoux

March

 

Participou no mundial de F1 entre 1970 e 1977,  depois entre 1981 e 1982, e finalmente entre 1987 e 1992 (entre 1987 e 1991 com o nome Leyton House). A equipe participou em mais de 300 GP, tendo conseguido 4 poles e 3 vitórias. Mais de30 Pilotos passaram pela equipe, onde se incluem nomes como Niki Lauda e Ronnie Peterson 

 

Maserati

Alinhou no mundial de F1 entre 1950 e 1957 (com excepção do mundial de 1951) tendo participado em mais de 160 corridas, onde obteve 8 poles e 9 vitórias. Se nunca venceu o mundial de construtores, viu Fangio vencer o mundial de pilotos em 1954 e 1957.

Penske

 

A equipe alinhou no mundial de F1 entre 1974 e 1976 e apesar de ter participado em apenas 31 corridas, obteve uma vitória por intermédio de  John Watson na Áustria em 1976

Porsche

A equipe participou no mundial entre 1957 e 1962 (voltou mais tarde como fornecedor de motores) tendo participado em pouco mais de 40 corridas. Dan Gurney (em 1962 no GP de França obteve a única vitória da equipe)

Shadow

Competiu entre 1973 e 1980, tendo participado em mais de 200 corridas. Obteve 3 poles e venceu uma única vez (Alan Jones na Áustria em 1977). Durante a sua existência recebeu motores de fábricas como a Ford e a Matra. Para além de Jones a equipe contou (entre outros) com pilotos como Tom Pryce, Jean Pierre Jarier, Riccardo Patrese e Clay Regazzoni

Stewart

 

A equipe de Jackie Stewart participou nos mundiais de 1997, 1998 e 1999, sempre com motor Ford. Nas 78 corridas disputadas conseguiu 1 pole e 1 vitória (Johnny Herbert no GP de Itália em 1999). Para além de Herbert, Barrichello, Jan Magnussen e Jos Verstappen passaram pela equipe 

Wolf

Alinhou no mundial entre 1977 e 1979, tendo participado em cerca de 50 corridas (sempre com motores Ford) e obteve 1 pole e 3 vitórias (todas obtidas por Jody Scheckter em 1977). Para além de Scheckter, Bobby Rahal, James Hunt e Keke Rosberg pilotaram para a equipe Inglesa.

Countdown To The Australian GP

Hi Callum – In Portugal Mother´s day isn´t next Sunday – Here it´s on the first Sunday of May, so this year it will be on May the 3rd

Preview to the F1 2015 Season by Pedro Cunha

        

Next week (Australia) we´ll see the first race of this year’s F1 world championship season.

A lot of things have changed compared to 2014:

First of all many drivers have a new team.
Vettel moved to Ferrari, Alonso to McLaren (he will miss the first race of the year after an accident in Spain during a testing session where he lost consciousness. According to the Spanish media he woke up speaking in Italian saying that he was a kart pilot and that becoming an F1 driver was his dream …), Kvyat is now a Red Bull driver, and Ericsson will drive for Sauber.

We have 3 rookies: Max Verstappen (son of Jos Verstappen, a former F1 driver), Carlos Sainz Jr (son of Carlos Sainz, two times world rally champion) and the Brazilian Felipe Nasr.

We have 10 teams. The Caterham team “disappeared” and Marrusia has a new name: Manor – Still to announce who will be their 2nd pilot, as Will Stevens is the only man confirmed so far.

Honda returns to the circus as an engine supplier to McLaren after an absence of six years.

Mercedes is the favourite to win both titles, but we’ll see what “arguments” Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren and Williams can “bring to the table”.

In my opinion the cars are nicer (mainly due to increased stringency in the regulations for the design of “noses”), the V6 turbo engines are “audible” and there will be no double points in the last race. And, we will also see the virtual safety car debut.

Great expectations for this season? Of course!

What Did I Learn With Our Writing Competition

As most of our readers know was held last month a writing contest here on our site.Organizing a writing competition was an old dream – I proposed it to Felicia and she welcomed the idea with “open arms”, as she also designed our badge, and as usual she gave me a lot of support.

Setting up rules and promoting the competition was relatively simple, but some questions start to “mess” with me:

 

Will anyone join our competion?
Will the posts (if we get some …) have quality?
Will our community be engaged in choosing the winner?

 

Well, there were no reasons to be afraid: We had contestants (I thank them so much), their posts were good and the community helped us to choose the winner.

 

What did I learn ? That all projects have risks, as there are numerous issues that we cannot control. but “doing nothing”  isn´t a choice…

 

Now with the experience of this first competition, I believe that we have conditions (next future) to launch our 2nd writing contest, to be followed by the 3rd and so on: All competitions (no matter the subject) start with a “first time”, and our was very positive.

 

Thanks to everyone who made ​​this dream possible.

O Que Aprendi Com O Concurso Da TMU

 

Como a maioria dos nossos leitores sabem foi realizado no passado mês um concurso de escrita no nosso site. Organizar um concurso de escrita era um sonho antigo - Fiz a proposta à Felicia a qual acolheu a ideia de "braços abertos", tendo igualmente desenhado o prémio, sendo o seu apoio e ajuda inexcedível ao longo de todo o concurso.

Definir regras e divulgar o concurso foi relativamente simples. Aqui chegado tive algumas angústias: Será que alguém vai participar? Será que os artigos (se receber algum...) são de qualidade? Será que a nossa comunidade se vai envolver na escolha do vencedor?

Pois bem as angustias não passaram disso: Houve participantes (aos quais muito agradeço), os artigos a concurso tinham qualidade e a comunidade ajudou a escolher o vencedor.

O que é que aprendi? Que qualquer empreendimento tem riscos, existem inúmeros factores que não podem ser controlados, mas ficar quieto não leva a nenhum lado (pode ser confortável mas não é solução).

Pois bem com a experiência deste primeiro concurso, acredito que estão reunidas as condições para no futuro lançarmos o 2º concurso de escrita, a que se seguirá o 3º e por aí fora: Todos os concursos (seja qual for o tema) tiveram todos uma primeira vez. A nossa já foi e considero-a muito positiva...Obrigado a todos aqueles que tornaram o sonho possível.

Here at TMU we´re proud to announce all of you that our first writing contest will start next saturday (10 th January) and it will last until the 31st of January.

 

We will accept posts concerning the following issues:

 

- Books

- Life

- Blogging

- Writing

 

Rules:

 

1. Each writer can publish how many posts as she/he wants, and there´s no “word limit”

 

2. All posts should be sent to:

All posts must include the following information:

 

Name of the writer and a short bio about her/him

 

We reserve the right to edit the posts, and also to publish them or not

 

Each post can include a photo – It´s not mandatory but it´s highly recomended

 

3. The Winner will be the post or posts with more points, according to the following rule:

 

1 point per view
2 points per “like”
3 points per comment

 

For instance, if a post gets 10 views, 8 likes and 5 comments it will receive 41 points (10*1)+(8*2)+(5*3)

 

4. Each Friday (16th, 23rd and 30th) of January we will publish the current standings, and during the first week of February we will announce the winner(s)

 

5. The Winner(s) will receive one exclusive badge, and will be invited to join TMU.
